With the PlayStation 3 being the ONLY seventh-generation console with a killer app at launch, expectations are helluva high. And the game in the spotlight of every video game reviewer right now is Resistance: Fall of Man, developed by Insomniac Games for Sony Computer Entertainment. What are your views on this game? OPM seems really pleased. And overall, this will be the best seventh-generation game this year, with the possible exception of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2.

coming from insomniac it will be nothing short of spectacular. it will be like a more mature Ratchet and Clank with better graphics.

That's exactly right. With Resistance, it's all about trying to convince the people that the PlayStation 3 actually does have better graphics than the Xbox 360, and can let you have more fun than the Wii. Cuz for those of you who haven't heard, Insomniac is packing a little surprise into this game for PlayStation 3 users.

Basically, Resistance will take advantage of the SIXAXIS controller's motion-sensing abilities to allow you to do hand-to-hand combat with the Chimerans. It will make the player feel like they are IN the game.

Don't worry. EGM's played with this, and they're more pleased with it than they were with Red Steel, no difficult task.

i dunno, zelda seems to be getting way more spotlight if you ask me. just saying.

the game does look cool though. so far from the reviewers i've seen on tv the only game that is a must have on the ps3.

Not really. Every video game magazine I've seen in the past few weeks is talking about Resistance: Fall of Man more than about Zelda. For instance, I recently got the latest issue of EGM, and yes, it was actually more about Halo 3, but it had more about Resistance in there than about Zelda. In fact, I don't think they even spoke of Zelda. But anyways, Resistance is a killer app that will be key to winning the console war. People are always talking about "Halo-killers", if there is a Halo-killer, it's Resistance.

i wouldn't deny that egm didn't mention zelda. you can't talk about every game in one issue. some support for me could be found at gamestats.com though, pretty cool site.

on a side note, a major contributer to egm was on attack of the show this week, and spent all weekend playing with the wii with some friends and he loved it. he said he'd buy it over the ps3

Odd, I'm not going to support anyone but what I read that everyone on Tv is cheering for the Wii and all the magazine are cheering for the PS3. By the way Myscrnm just because analysts say that the PS3 will do well does not mean that they are right.

This is not the word of one man. This is what many highly-trained professionals have been saying. When you hear about people bashing the PlayStation 3, they are just skeptics. Everyone who supports the PlayStation 3 that I've heard of are approved by Yahoo! News and Reuters.

nothing can kill halo, mainly cause of its great story, and multiplayer
also, resistence is just a futuristic WWII, it will probably not live up to expectations

it got a 9 out of 10 at ign, so i guess it's not bad.

Gears of war had the most preorders, second to only halo 2 so Microsoft made a good chunk of money the first day.

Stores were supposed to get on the day of luanch but some got it a day late. They lost so much money so there sueing fed-ex.

I love you. Resistance has consistently scored much higher than competing games from reviewers. The scores are as follows:

Famitsu - 33/40
IGN - 9.1/10
Game Informer - 9.5/10
X-Play - 5/5
gamezone - 9.5/10
Gamespot - 8.6/10
GameBrink - 91/100

Keep in mind that Famitsu is a very pro-Japanese reviewer and rarely gives Western games high scores. So for my estimated average, Famitsu's score will be omitted for consistency (although taking this into consideration, 33 is very high for a Western game). That comes to an average of 9.3/10 for Resistance.

Halo probley got higher.... Anyway when I played it I had a great time, If I was a reviewer I would give a 9.7 out of 10 the .3 s because It had somethings lacking.

Hmm, that's barely better than Resistance. Well, hopefully Halo 3 will be really good.

Don't get me wrong now, I think Halo is good, but Halo 3 is very overhyped. I'm not saying it's going to be bad or anything, but I am so sick of these Xbox-fanboys bickering about Halo 3 like it's going to be the greatest game of all time or something.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 can beat Gears of War in that respect any day. Oh yeah, and Resistance: Fall of Man.

Not really, analysts have recently been questioning the viability of the Zelda brand. Seems as though it will soon be overtaken by the Metal Gear series in terms of durability.

it's like with the ds. people weren't sure if the new features it had were making games better, or if it was just a gimmick. they say the wii will wind up just like the ds: it's not a gimmick, but a new fun to play, and if the ds is any clue the wii will be very successful. besides, that article wasn't exactly pinning anything on zelda. nothing but praise.
