Who here thinks American movie taste sucks? I mean like now there is a movie about mice getting FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET! Now, stupidity is what Americans like. Also, most movie rental places in my neighborhood have no anime. Comcast too, no Japanese material at all. I hate it.

I agree that most American movies suck. But your rather a japanophil, Dakoda, so I wouldn't be biasing movie taste in America off to it having nearly no Japanese material. ANd anyways, you're Chinese.

But, since American movie taste is comedy , and everyone like comedy, everyone will soon like american movies. Um.. im not American.

I like our movies expect for our horror genre. We focus on gore alot and it is really disgusting but not scary.

American movies used to be great. Now they really suck. Hollywood doesn't really focus on good stories anymore, they mainly focus on stories with drugs, sex, murder, explicit violence, etc.
-EDIT-
I would ask that your choices be put into correct format, spelled correctly and all that fun stuff.

As our culture evolves, so does the content of our movies, but the stories of those movies do not change.

Yeah all the old movies (the godfather, star wars) were great. So far there has been no movies like that. There have been alot of good movies but there are not that many.

I refuse to see it because I'm already sick of the CGI 3D movie fad that started with Shrek and Ice Age.
Now, as far as good movies go, you people just havn't been watching any of them. Running Scared. Gone in 60 Seconds. The Bourne Identity and it's sequel The Bourne Supremecy. All truly great stories, which make them truly great movies.

yes, exactly. It pretty much started with Toy Story though.
Band of Brothers was a good movie. Black Hawk Down was good to, but Top Gun was great. Or you could just sit and watch those cheesy, super violent movies on SciFi.

In my opinion anime is quite strange... 3 diffrent mouth frames for talking and all those weird lines and water drops going down their face when they feel embarrised ect... and all the

and

It is o so strange...

as far as Anime... i got turned off manga reading the first naruto... it was... wierd, anyone whose read it would know.
as far as everyone else, i agree with G_F22... Hollywood's mantra is "sex sells" i swear... even kids movies have kissing in them somewhere, any genre, any topic, you have passionate kissing (how passionate depends on the rating... different in shreck than, say, Frankenstien)... and a lot of movies sell based on the main character loosing thier virginity in the movie... now that's just wrong...

I hate most movies out today, the plots are shallow (all my opinion here), the actors (most of them) suck, and the camera does little to improve it. Most of the good movies are from the 30's to about the late 90's. I love black comedy the most, movies like Dr.Strangelove and Heathers.
