Crazy stuff right there. Just another wonder of Ebay

I'm not surprised. People would pay about 66 dollars for a conjoined tot. But then again, PS3 is pretty popular.

If you click on the auction, it says that the buyer is: "Not a registered user".
Click on that link which says that, and it says: "
Note: "Not a registered user" can refer to members who have cancelled their membership, or whose membership has been suspended by eBay. For example, a member whose correct contact information is no longer on file with us may have their registration suspended until the new contact information is entered. In either case, the member appears as "not a registered user" and is not allowed to buy or sell on eBay."

Yeah. If my dad did't work for Microsoft, I wouldn't know the Zune exisited.

I definitely would, although I don't know if I'd like it much. It sounds good, but not quite good enough to take market dominance away from the iPod.

And djbob, lappy and timebandit, it is obviously a fake bid, hence the reason I put the smilie after mentioning the bid. Could be the seller himself under another account because he didn't want to sell or just some moron

Most people like you folks who havn't sold on eBay don't understand the concept of "Non-Paying Bidder". Especially on a high-fraud item like this, NPBs run rampant. And the system eBay has in place to stop NPBs is not a good one. It takes four NPB strikes to get a person NARUd (Not a Registered User, eBay's equivalent of a ban). And most sellers don't report NPBs, they opt for mutual withdrawal instead (why, I don't know).
Now, they are cracking down on NPBs for the PS3, simply because they learned the hard way with the XBox 360. People worry so much about bogus sellers, but actually, as a seller, it's bogus buyers I'm more worried about, because any money transferred or held by PayPal is money that is at PayPal's whim, and they are overly biased against sellers and towards buyers.

That doesn't make sense, or else one of the many other MP3 players on the market would've already taken its market dominance.

I feel sorry for the seller... the money they probably lost is huge, considering the difference in value of a PS3 at launch and after about a week.

Don't take everything so literally. There is a difference between being better and the following: simplicity, beauty, branding and "coolness".
I also quote this:
QUOTE
What isn't inconceivable, however, is that Microsoft could create a Zune that's more desirable than the iPod. After all, the Mac is more elegant than Windows, but most people prefer Windows. And that's how Microsoft can kill the iPod: Make the Zune more like a Windows PC.

Is the Zune is out yet?
In some places, not here in Australia as far as I know... and if it was, they done a very bad job as I have never heard of it except until in this forum - no ads, noone talking about it etc.

Maybe you can start by not blaming other people for your own ignorance.

By the way, you missed a conditional statement in your quote of mine, please don't crop arguments to fit your rebuttal.
I was not blaming someone. I was saying someone should be blamed only
IF it was not released here.
In fact I even guessed that it wasn't released:

So:
A) I am not being ignorant

I did not blame anyone for anything

If you don't have anything good to say, don't say it at all, I always say.
Basically, the moral of the story is that if you don't care, don't go around flaunting your arrogance and ignorance.

As for the bids. Fake. And why get them expensive one Ebay? Just wait until later and the price of the PS3 will go down.

ZOMFG. The Zune is pretty much one of the most highly-anticipated products of this year. Now, I'm not saying everyone has to care about it, but they don't can't just act all arrogant like they are better than the Zune when they know nothing about it. Like I said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't talk at all.".
As for the bids, I don't know about $30,000, but at the height of the bidding wars, real bids went well above $2,500. And it's good to get one on eBay now so you can start saving lives (looks as though I'll probably have to explain this one too. Sony basically did stuff with Stanford so that PlayStation 3s can fold proteins while the systems are idle and find cures for diseases).
In conclusion, acting like an idiot and playing the Wii can wait, lives hanging in the balance can't. Even if you could save just one life, wouldn't that be worth it? (and if you say no, you're just a heartless bastard who doesn't deserve to live).

Playing the WII isn't wasting time, but acting like an idiot is. Zune... I don't care. I'm not a tech person. The only reason I'm on this site in the first place and know what I know about tech stuff and gaming is because of Lappy.
Good for Sony. Before, I thought Sony was pretty cool. But now...
But I'm a supportive friend... friend.
Ooookk... You should quit high school and get a job cleaning computer screens for Sony. Or something like that. Then you can be there all day.
