About to join team now

"2,228,199 keys, clicked 979,586 times and moved his or her mouse for 0 miles"

I haven't seen my account for a long time.I have like,um,50,000 keys just to Pokemon Yellow.
krt
Where do you live? Pokemon died out years back...
Holy Shoes 3
Pokemon still has more and more games coming out, the series is still playing just the newer versions. But still Pokemon is dying out, just at a slow pace.

djbob
Pokemon is the shiznit tongue.gif
But seriously, the games never get old, and the card game isn't too bad. Just because it's not the fad anymore doesn't mean it can't be fun wink.gif

Now I shall split this topic.
krt
Really? I remember hearing of a few of the low form students playing it on their PSPs or gameboys but hardly anything else since primary school (over 5 years ago)

also...
QUOTE
the games never get old

I have seen the game and it was close to the worst looking game, even the graphics on Windows 3.1 games and arcade games look better, can't say much more about the repetitive nature of it. Reminds me of RPG type games, fight, stats up, fght, story line attempt, fight, etc.
Holy Shoes 3
Yah well with a gameboy the graphics will never be that great, but PSP on the other hand has great graphics, but the newer games of pokemon (if there still coming out with any) probably have better graphics I'm guessing. But it really depends on what system your playing the game on. Because when I first started playing pokemon games I had a gameboy pocket, but the gameboy advanced played all of my games in color. The thing is with pokemon is that it's a really popular topic because just about everybody has heard of it, played the game, or saw the series at one point.

Pokemon! what are you still 8!

The handhelds were fun, but were all sort old to play Pokemon.
Holy Shoes 3
No sh** sherlock!lol When was pokemon even created anyway cause it seems like it was created in like 1989. Because when I was younger everybody was like obsest with pokemon but once the 2,000's came it just like evaporated out of everybody.
Native pride
Yeah it was either freinds or pokemon.
Holy Shoes 3
lol yah everybody chose friends. Does anybody remember those pokemon card tournements, because my neighbor used to go to them and he was really obsest. He won all of the badges. And he played it untill like 6th grade. Is it me or is that a little old to be playing it. lol I stopped like between 3rd and 4th grade.
Native pride
I recall this event at some mall where I brought my game-boy and we had a tournament.
LucresSerebii
I really never liked the card game/ show, but the games are okay.
ian

there, i made a pokemon sig.

EDIT: pokemon rocks
Holy Shoes 3
lol deep down we all have a part of us that still like pokemon. Speaking of pokemon, my band decided to cover the themesong of pokemon, even though the real version is extremely long. And, well...... it didn't sound exactly, great. But I thought it was suprising that we all remembered the words to the song lol.

oh god, i'm getting tired of it.i wish it would just die already. don't get me wrong, i used to be a pokemon freak, but recently my little brother got re-into it. i can't take it anymore. he's making all these new friends that are complete dorks. he at the house of one of them right now. and next year he'll be in middle school. if he doesn't drop it like it's hot he'll be like the losers in the high school. i can't bear the thought...
LucresSerebii
I don't play the games much anymore... But I don't hate them.
MFO
Did you know Pokemon talk now? It's so stupid...

???

what about the good ol' days, when meowth was the only one?

he learned to talk because there was this female meowth and he wanted to impress her.
S.W.A.T
The new games are getting crazy. I hope they do a Yellow Remake.
LucresSerebii
Or a GOld/Silver remake.
Joe
Pokemon was fun. I went to this comic book shop once around 2nd grade, and then some guys used their gameshark on my Pokemon game so I could get some rare dewds. I bought a buttload of cards back then, thank god WoW keeps me off trends and crap.

WoW is geekier than Pokemon. ( If you're obssessed, yes)
Zafer200
Pokemon was really fun like 5 years ago but it still is fun with all the new games coming out.

Interesting quotes from Wikipedia:

From the context of "Criticisms about Pokemon -> Animal abuse"
"Seen from this point of view, the game consists primarily of Pokémon trainers capturing and bartering in wild animals, coercing them to fight one another. It also sees various performance-enhancing drugs to give them an edge in the fight."

"Wizards of the Coast lost the license to publish the game in July, 2003, [but] sets continue to be published, now under the jurisdiction of Nintendo and Pokemon USA Inc (PUI). Although the popularity of the game decreased drastically immediately after Wizards lost the license, under the guidance of PUI and Pokemon organized Play the game has steadily increased in popularity over the past 3 years."
krt
Great find! laugh.gif

(goes to have a look at what else they may have)
lappy512
The first one may be taken out of context, so I added:
From the context of "Criticisms about Pokemon -> Animal abuse"

Quote 1 is from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokemon
Quote 2 is from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokémon_Trading_Card_Game
krt
Don't discredit yourself tongue.gif Both quotes were on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokemon and that is all that should matter smile.gif

EDIT: my bad, it's still funny though (and though they are separate articles, they are closely related)

The second quote isn't on the Pokemon page; the second quote is most definitely from the Pokemon Trading card game page; The Pokemon page doesn't mention how it lost popularity after Wizards lost the license.
krt
Yes it does. The main article for "pokemon" includes parts of other articles.

Search "Wizards of the Coast" in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokemon and you will find it smile.gif

EDIT: bah, didn't read it and assumed the info about wizards of the coast in that article was the quote Lappy showed
lappy512
I'll continue via PM. Anyways, it's interesting to hear that it lost popularity after Nintendo retook control; but just because two things are correlated doesn't mean that they cause each other. Any opinions on Pokemon's demise?
Zombieman3421
it was the same thing with new pokemon, thats all it was
LucresSerebii
... At first Pokemon was popular. Then, the generation (us) grew out of it. The litteler kids are getting into other stuff. So, there are less and less people liking pokemon each year.

See, if it was a trend, I'd be playing it just because other people play it. I play WoW because it's fun for myself. Then again, if everyone quit, who would still play?
djbob
Well, I didn't play Pokemon because other people played it. There's more to a trend than "other people do it." Pokemon video games and card games were genuinely fun.
S.W.A.T
I never played the card games.

My gameboy color was left on a portable oven in 1st or 2nd grade and parts of it melted. So now it's all glitchy and weird... I haven't played in years.
Zafer200
On a portable oven? LOL
