The Star Wars saga is without a doubt one of the most influential film series of all time, spanning action figures, toys, dolls, comic books, novels, spinoff series, cartoons, et cetera. But which one is good enough to be a classic? I voted for Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

personally, I thought that the revenge of the sith was the weakest movie. there was too much fighting and there wasn't enough of a plot. plus it was way too predictable.

With Revenge of the Sith, I hated it cuz it was sad. But it's supposed to be predictable, cuz it's a link between the prequels and the classic trilogy.

I like how the movies went backwards. Personally I thought they were all good but Revenge of The Sith had the best effects, only because it was newer though.

III had the best effects (duh) But V had the best plot. And the effects were still great.

ESB didint have the best plot RoJ did becuse no one expected the emporor to die by the hands of vader.

I wouldn't say that makes it the best plot of the lot, cuz it is more of a plot twist. I would agree that it is the greatest plot twist of the decade, but it doesn't give Revenge of the Jedi the best plot.

Qui-Gon was cool. But the feel of the movie was very generic, and Lloyd as Skywalker was very annoying. Now, Attack of the Clones was a great movie. It's hard to best (yes, I can use best in this context) classics like A New Hope.

i liked the creativity in the podracing too.

It's not about that kind of shit that makes a movie good. I mean, Back to the Future had the flying time-travelling DeLorean, but did that make it good?! (I love the series, but I'm just using it as an example) By all means no. It's about the overall quality of the movie, the use of deep analytical thinking. Back to the Future was the first movie to talk about the dramatic repercussions that time-travel would have on the future. The Phantom Menace had Qui-Gon, a dual-bladed lightsabre, and podracing. Not very spectacular if you ask me. Now, I'm not saying it's a terrible movie either. In general, it's a great movie. But it just can't compare to Attack of the Clones and the Original Trilogy.

We are comparing the films to other films of the saga, not to all the films made.

I was born long after the movies were made, and I saw the sixth.

I didn't see many of the older Star Wars films. Maybe 2 or 3. I did see most of the newer ones though.

That's no excuse. I was born after Revenge of the Jedi, and even I have seen all of the original trilogy.

I don't watch a lot of T.V, I spend most of my time in sports.

Good to see you are dedicated to a good cause. But what I can't stand is someone who doesn't know about pop culture. You can't be in society and not have watched the original trilogy. It's like saying you've never seen Dr. No or Goldfinger.
