Hey if you're having logon problems, it could be because of a proxy... It was happening to me, since I had Google Web Accelerator on.

I have to disagree with this because, 0.3333... is 1/3 . so 3*0.33333... would equil .9999999. which goes on for ever. making it impossible to correctly calculate so it is truncated to 1.

It's not impossible to calculate. It can be calculated with limits, a process of calculus, to be exactly equal to 1.

Nope, it's my shitty ISP.

I have a worse problem on the WoW Forums, I can't even log in right. As for the fix to it that I found, doesn't work with my ISP. Yayyy!

There is no false indicator. Algebraicly .99999999999... is equal to one.
think about this.
.00000...1 terminates therefore it is not equal to zero, but for every zero in the "elipses" you get closer and closer to zero. Therefore you cannot prove its value to be anything!
So you can claim .9999999999999... to be =1,
but you can't prove anything

Yeah you can. With 0.
01, there's an infinite chain of zeros that come before the one. Say your teacher tells you, "Yeah, you can graduate. But first you have to complete an infinite number of homework assignments." So does graduation ever really come? No, so in the same way, the "1" at the end of an infinite string of zeros past the decimal point, does not really exist.
Also, you can prove its value to be something. Remember when I brought up calculus and limits? Yeah.

It's actually quite easy to prove.
0.01 = lim as x->0+ (x) = 0

Another proof is that there is a law that states there is an infinite amount of numbers between any two different numbers. However, there are no different numbers between .9 repeating and 1, therefore they are the same number.
