Because there needs to be a topic about this.

I'll probably check out the press conferences, probably live feeds on a couple o sites. Anyways, anyone hyping/looking forward to anything at this point?
myscrnnm
There is a feed from GameSpot and Engadget, at least the reliable ones. And the PlayStation Network also has up-to-date coverage (for PlayStation 3 users, like moi).

But anyways, I'm most looking forward to what SCEI will have to talk about and any updates from Kojima Productions. And it wouldn't hurt for Square Enix to talk more about Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. And perhaps more talk about automobile manufacturers in Gran Turismo 5.
/\/\/\/
Just got done watching all the press conferences on G4. Great stuff, although alot of it seemed to be bragging about how well their respective systems did over the last year, excluding sony. Microsoft's was a little boring, but the live band playing the Halo theme in the beginning was freaking sweet. If I could play one song on any instrument it would most likely be one from the Halo series, its music is phenominal. Then there was a little bit about Halo 3 at the end of course, although it was just a trailer. God I'm sick of trailers. Anybody can make a fancy trailer which get alot of hype for a game, but it's the game that needs to deliver. This is why I believe so many games become disappointments. As far as 360 goes, Mass Effect looks good too. Most of the other stuff was for multi-platforms and junk that's downloadable now. And like I said, it was mostly bragging about sales.

Nintendo's was next and I found it disappointing. Nothing really new, just some bragging like Microsofts. However, they did give release dates for Brawl and Galaxy, both in Q4 making me very happy. MarioKart for the Wii was also announced, a long time favorite of mine for mixing fighting with racing that many have tried, and all failed, to mimic. There was a bit on Phantom Hourglass which was cool. I'm still not sure about its control scheme, but I'm still greatl jealus of Japan whose already got it and that I have to wait until October. That was about all to feel giddy about however. They also introduced Wiifit, which looks like a game for streches and workouts. It's like Brain Age for the body. I'm sure this game will do well, but it's not my type. Nintendo seems to be leaning a bit more towards more add ons now don't they? I mean, you got that new Zapper skin for shoothers, a wheel skin for racers (although I have already seen one in stores before now), and Wiifit's got that balance board thing. These better come free in packages, or I probably won't be buying them. The Zapper and wheel feel more like gimmicks anyway. Unneccesary luxeries.

Sony's finally thinking about games. In fact, that's about all they talked about. Several however, were either also going to be on the 360 or are most likely to be on it sometime after its ps3 release. They did have some solid looking games, but all seemed to appeal to the more mature and hardcore audience, which of course if any of them were to be captured they probably have been already. Nothings really in there for the casual gamer or his kid he likes to play with but doesn't want him turning into the evil little asshole that so many kids have already become due to parents who are stupid enough to let their kids play M rated games before they even hit puberty. There's a lack of casual games on the PSP also, which I believe is a mistake. Handhelds are not ment for hardcore games, that what home consoles are for. Handhelds are ment for having something to do real quick while you're waiting at the doctor's office or something and can be picked up and played again months later when it's needed again. And what's with Hideo Kojima retiring? I may have never played on of his games due to the fact he never really made for a console I own, but I still have great respect for this man. I mean, he just got Snake into Super Smash Bros. Brawl and now he's going to be doing the next thing to killing him? I suppose it's his decision, but God that came from nowhere...

And let's, myscrnnm included, try to keep this flame free. For once I'd like to talk about video games in a sensible manner without somebody condradicting me or laying an F-bomb. Let's discuss, share oppinions, but not accuse ot insult. Please. For the love of God, please.

The Zapper shell was actually one thing I was remotely impressed with. But like you said, the price is far too high. For a cheap piece of plastic, that should come bundled with a game or system for free, or sell for a much lower price. It's overpriced, like everything else Nintendo makes.

Actually, SCEI presented several casual games during the keynote. For instance, LittleBigPlanet, Warhawk, et cetera. And there are just so many casual games on the PlayStation Network, and SCEI has said that they plan to have over 80 games on the PSN by the end of the year. All of the games are not only easy to access (right from the living room) but the prices are great. Most are less than ten dollars. Great for people who want to buy on a whim and also don't want to have to spend $60 everytime there is a killer app.

And actually, the PlayStation Portable is slated for several new games. I don't know what the fuck you were watching. But I downloaded the lineup video from the PlayStation Store, and there is the new Star Wars games with the Millenium Falcon, Final Fantasy Tactics, et cetera. So many great games.

lmao, Hideo Kojima has never made a game for a system you own because your shitty systems are too low for him.

Hey, how 'bout you shut the fuck up? You're always the one who starts the controversy by flaming me and insulting my intelligence (which might I add is far higher than your's).

-EDIT-

Shit, just watched the all-new Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots trailer. It's AMAZING. All-new footage, more of the plot has been revealed. And once again, an AMAZING battle with Raiden, and this time Vamp returns. Plus new members of Foxhound have been revealed. Movement of all the characters has also become more natural. Shit, and all in 1080 HD.

He did make a series for the GBA (new installment on the DS).

In conclusion, I'm glad I avoided watching the conferences and then just skimmed the transcripts later.
Timebandit
They didn't say anything about Ace Combat. I'm probably going to get a PS3 anyways.

Um, being hypocrytical much? Come on, can't I have a least one conversation without you bashing me and the things I enjoy? You haven't done that once since you arrived, I think you owe me at least that.

I played the demo on the 360, thought it was boring, not enough action. Then again, I've never played Ace Combat before and it was a demo so...whatever.

Good choice. Maybe we can see Ace Combat 6 on the PlayStation 3 in a few years though. Plus, you can just tell from SCEI's press conference at E3, there are promising titles coming up to distract me. Like I said, the new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer is fucking AMAZING. Plus, since I downloaded it from the PlayStation Store, it's in 1080 Full HD.

wtf. I was minding my own fucking business at KL until you arrived and starting talking about how Sony is shit and bullshitting us.

-EDIT-

Okay, I'm going to be the gentleman here and offer you a compromise. If you stop bashing everything that Sony makes and does, including Sony itself, and all of Sony's respective subsidiaries and divisions, and stop talking about Nintendo, then I'll stop bashing Nintendo. It's up to you.

Demos always have little content.

I just got back 2 hours ago. It was alright, but the ones that fully open to the public in the past were MUCH better. There actually wasn't alot of demos and stuff to play like the previous ones. But then again, It was WAY smaller.

Oh and myscrnnm, when I was there I heard the Konami executive say that they may go multi-platform with MGS4. He doesn't beleive the PS3 will be able to win back the user base. XD whose laughing now?

Actually, this was probably the best E3 yet. The PlayStation 3 gameplay videos stole the show.

Oh, and you're a fucking idiot. This is really old news. Did you not hear Kojima just REconfirm the exclusivity yesterday? He's already said that the XBox 360 is not capable of running Metal Gear Solid 4. The man who said that it's coming to the Xbox 360 is a fucking executive, a SUIT. He doesn't understand how this shit works.

good point. those executives know nothing.
Killswitch
No, I don't think I was there for that. I really didn't want to listen to sony propaganda.

And I am not saying that the MGS4 bit was false.
/\/\/\/
wait a minute, killswitch, you were there? how the hell did you get in?

myscrnnm, i would gladly accept your compromise, as i was thinking of this myself, but I would still like the freedom to geek out about Nintendo so long as you have the right to geek out about Sony. I think it sounds fair and I won't bash Sony any more so long as you don't bash Nintendo any more. I think we both should also have the right to an honest oppinion, but the oppinion should not be made to look like an insult or taken as one. Agreed?

Friends of friends, one of them is a cameraman and was going to be allowed in with like 6 other people. But a couple of them couldn't go so he offered them to my friend, who then offered one to me.

They all feed you propaganda at these events, I just find the Sony propaganda less tolerable.

actually, it is called advertising.

Killswitch
Oh yeah, I find it way less tolerable. But Nintendo is pretty true to what they say. Unlike half of Sony and Microsoft.

Well right now, since microsoft has confirmed that every xbox 360 is defective ( the warranty extension was all they could do short of a global recall is what i heard ), and the wii still lacks a solid game library.

I personally am going t ocontinue playing with a regular old Xbox.
myscrnnm
QUOTE(myusrnm @ Jul 15 2007, 09:35 PM) *

Hopefully, third party developers will tire of the technical limitations of the Wii and Nintendo will have to rely on its first party developers to churn out stuff. But the Mario franchise has been the most powerful ever, so the Wii will be hella successful.
/\/\/\/
And with that myscrnnm, I accept your peace offering. Although I do wish the third party for the Wii would be successful. Maybe it just takes time to get used to it and get around just gimmicking things or slapping on motion sensing to a regular game. I mean seriously, just because it has motion sensing doesn't mean you have to use it. And honestly, I was rather disappointed by E3 this year. The biggest game I'm looking forward to was Brawl, and it wasn't even there. A brief mention in the press conference but that was it. And most of the other games we've seen since last year, only now some are playable, but if you weren't there that hardly seems to matter. And of course there were more trailers, but that doesn't hold for long. Still, several good games do seem to be coming out. I'll have to mooch off of Gameclaw's 360 for a while though. The 360 is definately getting a solid line up. PS3's getting an excellent library as well, although I don't know anybody I could mooch off of except an old friend of mine that beta tests for Sony, and he graduated last year. Plus, he hasn't really talked to me all that much anymore.

lmao, I've been a beta tester for PlayStation Home for like two months, and I'm STILL using my PlayStation 3. Plus, SCEI has been sending me free games recently, like Syphon Filter and Hot Shots Golf. But it's clear that SCEI stole the show with its lineup of games. But personally, I was a bit displeased with the hardware revision of the PlayStation Portable. I mean, from my personal standpoint, it's great. But as a shareholder, you've got to know what the consumers think, and the consumers want a PSP2, no matter how ridiculous that sounds. And as usual, Solid Snake will steal the show in Brawl, unless of course the developers can somehow manage to make Samus look real with the Wii hardware. Then Samus will be like hella hot.
/\/\/\/
yeah, there was lots of complaining when samus went from very realistic in prime 1 to anime-ish in prime 2. But they seem to be doing the Prime 2 version, and I'd be damned if they changed it. Still, no matter what, that skin-tight suit will always look good on her tongue.gif . I'm still curious as to how Snake will play. There was a few shots in the Nintendo world trailer, but not much. Getting out a rocket launcher to kill someone laying at your feet does seem a bit like overkill though. Eh, we'll know more when the Brawl site decides to update on the new characters a bit more often.

No problem, as long as it's not DS-graphics.
/\/\/\/
I don't see why it would be. I mean, If they can put every sitch in Mario's overalls they can make a hot fighter. And speaking of which information on Zero Suit Samus just came out today. I just wrote about it in my blog, so for my oppinion you can just go there.
